Simulation of Soil Water and Heat Flow under Plastic Mulching and Different Ridge Patterns

The ridge–furrow mulching system with plastic film (RFMS) has been widely used in semi-arid areas order to improve soil water and heat conditions, crop yields use efficiency. It is of practical significance study the effect ridge types on optimize measures effectiveness furrow system. To clarify combined beneath influence morphology it, field experiments were conducted three treatments, including conventional planting bare land (CK), a (wide 70 cm width 10 height, narrow 40 15 height) complete (RFWN) (equal 55 (RFE). An insufficient irrigation was adopted two-dimensional numerical software HYDRUS-2D simulate flow under experimental conditions. model calibrated verified according test data for period 2018 2019, which showed good agreement between simulated measured values. simulation results revealed that ground temperatures RFWN RFE much higher than CK, average value 0–25 during growth could increase by 2.29–4.61%. Compared reduced evaporation (84.71–93.73%) evapotranspiration (12.02–21.75%), while they increased root uptake (25.87–40.98%) T/ET (48.85–80.15%). Plastic morphologies affected infiltration range direction movement, moisture when there no rainfall or fluctuations, more conducive growth, especially method proposed this paper an effective technique calculating dynamics different sections condition mulching, it can be optimal management area.
